The Oklahoma Film and Music Office (OF+MO) is excited to be a returning sponsor of the Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance’s (OKMPA) PitchFest+. After a successful inaugural year, the daylong event returns with even more to offer attendees. Hosted at Meridian Tech in Guthrie on October 24, the day will be filled with plenty of opportunities to network and learn more about multiple facets within the film and television industry.
OKMPA’s PitchFest+ welcomes Hollywood executives to Oklahoma allowing local filmmakers to pitch their concepts to industry professionals. All attendees will receive the chance to sign up for a 15-minute, one-on-one session as long as spots remain available. This year’s executives include Brian Loschiavo, executive producer and co-founder of Riverside Entertainment; Valerie Bush, Producer at Antigravity; Zack Zucker, Literary Manager and Producer at Bellevue Productions; Cassandra Rivas, Agent at United Talent Agency; and more to be announced.
New to this year’s event is the addition of CrewFest. This programming is the perfect way for local film professionals or those interested in related below-the-line work within the industry to connect with heads of departments, local producers and directors looking to build their future crew rosters. Represented departments include costumes, art, hair & makeup, grip & electric, along with unions. CrewFest programming is free for current students.
“PitchFest+ has always been about creating access,” said Tawni Phelan, Executive Director of the OKMPA. “With the addition of CrewFest, we’re creating even more opportunities for Oklahoma’s creative community to learn, connect and build relationships that can help move their careers forward.”
Attendees can also expect free professional headshots and the opportunity to connect with various local industry vendors, organizations and related resources. The day will kick off with the classic Coffee with Crew mixer followed by a day of panels and wrap with Cocktails with Crew.
The OKMPA is a statewide association dedicated to strengthening Oklahoma’s film and music industries. With a membership of more than 400 professionals, businesses and industry supporters, the OKMPA focuses on advocacy, education and connection to create opportunities, develop Oklahoma’s creative workforce and support the continued growth of these industries across the state.
