Can you tell us how and why you started your business?
We’re Voth — siblings who grew up in Tulsa and have been singing together for as long as we can remember. From church stages to local venues, Tulsa is where our sound was born and where our love for storytelling through music began. In 2019, our journey took us to Nashville when we signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell. Those years were transformative. We learned from some of the best writers, artists and producers in the world, immersing ourselves in a community built on collaboration, craft and the power of a great song.
But through all of it, Tulsa never left our hearts. Every time we came home, we saw the potential here — the hunger, the talent, the spark. And we realized something important: if you want to build a great music city, you have to start by building a great song city.
After fulfilling our publishing contract, we made the decision to take everything we’d learned in Nashville and bring it back to the place that raised us. Our mission is simple: help Tulsa grow into a true songwriting city.
We want to create opportunities that we didn’t know existed when we were coming up — spaces for writers to collaborate, platforms for artists to be heard and events that celebrate the craft of songwriting the way Nashville does. Through writers’ rounds, curated writing sessions and community-driven events, we hope to connect artists, inspire creativity and build a thriving ecosystem where songs, stories and voices can flourish.
For us, this isn’t just about music. It’s about investing in Tulsa’s creative future. It’s about giving back to the community that shaped who we are — as musicians, as siblings and as people.
We believe Tulsa can be a songwriting city. We’re here to help make it happen.
What services do you provide within the music industry?
Songwriting: It all starts with the song. We believe in creating an atmosphere where songwriters can develop their ideas through co-writing and collaboration. Our staff has professional industry experience on the artist and publishing side to help meet the needs of creatives at all stages of their careers.
Publishing: We are dedicated to elevating our songwriters and catalogs across a wide range of media platforms—including digital, film, TV, theatrical, immersive experiences and more. From securing playlist placements to distribution features, we continuously seek innovative ways for fans to engage with the music.
Syncronization: Our sync team is relentlessly focused on finding fresh, creative ways to get our writers’ music heard. We seek relationships to elevate our songwriters’ brands in high-impact, high-visibility projects—across film, TV, advertising, gaming, leading content creators and emerging media platforms.
Recording: Many of our writers are also artists — looking to get their music recorded and produced at the highest level. With access to one of the top studios in the nation, we offer a unique approach to the recording process and provide a deep catalog of songs and producers that will help your music cut through the noise.
Songwriting Rounds: Our writers’ rounds are designed to spotlight the heart behind the music — the song itself. These intimate, story-driven events bring together artists and writers to share their songs in their purest form while giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. By connecting Tulsa’s local talent with established writers from around the country, we foster community, collaboration and inspiration. Each round serves not only as a platform for discovery, but also as a catalyst for meaningful creative relationships that strengthen Tulsa’s growing songwriting culture.

What would you consider your business’s greatest accomplishment to date?
Our proudest achievement is the successful launch and execution of The Soundup Roundup, a songwriting-focused event series that has already sold out twice, demonstrating both community demand and the growing appetite for authentic music experiences in Tulsa. These events have featured a mix of established and emerging talent, including Grammy-nominated songwriter Dave Barnes, prominent writer Audra Mae, rising artists Natalie Reed and Micah Felts and Voth, providing a stage where artists ranging from all levels of success can share their stories and songs for audiences.
Equally important, we’ve built strategic partnerships with key local and regional organizations, including Brut Hotel and the Oklahoma Film + Music Office, creating a foundation for sustainable growth and demonstrating our ability to bring together artists, businesses and cultural institutions. These partnerships have enabled us to provide VIP experiences, enhanced programming and meaningful exposure for songwriters, solidifying our role as a catalyst for Tulsa’s songwriting community.
Ultimately, our greatest accomplishment is not just the events themselves, but proving that Tulsa can support high-quality, songwriter-driven experiences that elevate local talent, foster collaboration and inspire a city-wide culture of creativity.

What advice do you have for others who are considering starting a music business in Oklahoma?
The most important advice we can give is: just start. It can be overwhelming to think about everything you want to achieve, especially when your ultimate vision feels big—like owning a venue, running weekly events, or shaping an entire music ecosystem. But the key is to begin with what you know and what you can do now.
For us, that meant starting with songwriting rounds—something we were passionate about and had experience in—rather than trying to launch the entire vision of The Soundup Club all at once. By focusing on one manageable step at a time, we’ve been able to build momentum, learn as we go and create meaningful experiences for artists and audiences alike.
Starting small also allows you to trust the creative process. Tulsa’s music community is rich with talent, collaboration and opportunity and when you begin, the path often becomes clearer as relationships, partnerships and ideas develop naturally.
So, if you’re considering starting a music business in Oklahoma: start somewhere, start with what you know and trust the process. Every small step builds toward your larger vision—and before you know it, your idea has grown into something much bigger than you initially imagined.
