The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to join the centennial celebration of the Mother Road, Oklahoma’s Route 66, this weekend. Presented by Visit OKC, Kickin’ It on Route 66 OKC Centennial Celebration at Scissortail Park this Saturday, May 30, offers the public a free, fun-filled day of activities and engagements capped off with an evening celebration featuring an all-star Oklahoma music lineup.
“Route 66 only turns 100 once, and moments like this are about more than looking back. They’re about coming together to celebrate the music, culture, stories and communities that have made the Mother Road such an important part of Oklahoma’s identity,” said Nikki Lloyd, Route 66 Centennial Commissioner. “The May 30 event gives people a chance to step away from their routines for a few hours, experience great live music, connect with one another and be part of the excitement surrounding this once-in-a-generation celebration. No matter your connection to Route 66, this is a chance to celebrate a piece of history while making some new memories along the way.”
Beginning at 9 a.m., the day kicks off with a farmers market, followed by a kids market and Route 66 Travel Hub at 4 p.m. Pedal boats, kayaks and roller skating will be open and available throughout the day beginning at 10 a.m.
In the evening, the Centennial Concert will feature performances from Oklahomans beginning at 6 p.m., concluding with a special neon nights drone show at 10 p.m.
The all Oklahoma lineup for the Centennial Concert includes:
- Kaitlin Butts, the Tulsa-born, Nashville-based artist known for viral success with “You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me)” just concluded a tour with Lainey Wilson and will join Ella Langley’s tour this July.
- Ricochet delivers a throwback to ‘90s country with pure Oklahoma-born energy known for hits like “Daddy’s Money.”

“Route 66 and music have always gone hand in hand, and there’s no better way to celebrate the centennial of the Mother Road than by showcasing the incredible talent we have right here in Oklahoma,” said Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell. “From rising stars to legendary performers, Oklahoma music continues to make an impact here and across the globe. This celebration is a great reminder of why our state plays such an important role in the history and future of Route 66.”
