About the Film
Dead Man Walking is a horror drama/tragedy about a man named Eric, who is infected with a fungal zombie infection and must face the consequences of having one last dinner with his family before making the ultimate sacrifice to prevent the spread of the infection.
Seeking strong, emotional performances.
Roles
ERIC – Lead
- Male, 30s, any ethnicity
- Loves his family and his job as a scientist and gives his all for his kids. This changes over time as his mind is slowly hijacked by The Spores, the infection he contracts at work. If it weren’t for his overwhelming will to not harm his family, the story would have turned out very differently.
- Seeking someone willing and comfortable with their personal space being breached.
DR. LOWDER – Supporting
- Male, late 30s to early 40s, any ethnicity
- A hallucination Eric experiences, brought on by The Spores. Dr. Lowder embodies the cravings of The Spores, as well as its intelligence inherited from its host. Given that Eric is a leading scientist, Dr. Lowder is highly intelligent and extremely menacing.
JOHN – Supporting
- Male, early 30s, any ethnicity
- Smart, but young and naïve. Eric’s best friend, who would do anything for him, leading him to break protocol after learning Eric had contracted The Spores.
CASSIDY – Supporting
- Female, 30s, any ethnicity
- A stay-at-home mom thanks to Eric’s well-paying job, she always puts her kids first. Coming from a rough background, she is always prepared for the worst. Nothing could have prepared her for what happened the last time she saw Eric when he stopped by for a quick family dinner.
- Seeking someone willing and comfortable with their personal space being breached.
TEAN – Supporting
- Male or female, able to portray a 5-year-old, any ethnicity
- Tean is five years old. Loves their parents and is always looking for ways to be helpful. Very playful, respectful, and well-raised.
