Brut Hotel is a boutique hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that intentionally integrates music, culture and hospitality. Through live performances, artist partnerships, curated vinyl programming and collaborations with local and national music organizations, Brut serves as a platform for music discovery, community engagement and creative expression. The hotel operates as both a cultural hub and a supporter of Oklahoma’s broader music ecosystem.
Can you tell us how and why you started your business?
Brut Hotel was founded to create a hospitality experience rooted in culture, creativity and community. From the beginning, music was viewed not as an amenity, but as a core pillar of the brand. Tulsa’s rich musical history and active contemporary scene presented an opportunity to build a space where artists, audiences and travelers could meaningfully connect. The goal was to develop a hotel that actively supports the music community while contributing to Tulsa’s cultural identity
What services do you provide within the music industry?
Brut Hotel provides infrastructure, programming and financial support to the music industry through:
- Live music events and performances across multiple spaces
- Artist showcases, listening parties and curated cultural programming
- Partnerships with local and national music organizations and nonprofits
- In-room vinyl bar carts featuring curated selections and Oklahoma artists
- Event hosting for music-adjacent organizations, conferences and festivals
- Sponsorships and commissioned projects that directly support artists and music production
How has your company grown to meet the needs of Oklahoma’s music industry over the last 3-5 years?
Over the last several years, Brut Hotel has expanded its role from hosting occasional performances to becoming a consistent and reliable platform for music programming. We have increased the frequency and scale of live events, built long-term partnerships with local institutions, and invested in programming that prioritizes Oklahoma artists. Our growth has focused on sustainability, creating repeat opportunities for artists rather than one-off events
What are the benefits of basing your company’s operations in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma offers a uniquely collaborative music community with deep roots and a strong sense of place. Operating in Tulsa allows us to work closely with artists, nonprofits and cultural organizations in a way that would be difficult in larger markets. The cost of doing business, community support and access to talent make it possible to invest more directly in creative programming and artist partnerships while maintaining long-term viability.
What would you consider your business’s greatest accomplishment to date?
One of Brut Hotel’s greatest accomplishments has been establishing itself as a trusted cultural partner within Tulsa’s music ecosystem. By consistently investing in music programming and artist support, we have helped normalize the idea that hospitality businesses can play a meaningful role in sustaining local music communities—not just hosting events, but actively contributing to their growth.
Are there any recent successes your company would like to highlight related to work within the Oklahoma music industry?
Recent highlights include:
- The launch of our intimate rooftop concert series, which kicked off with Wilderado and Ken Pomeroy.
- Sponsoring the production of the vinyl pressing for the local musician Swim Meet hosted by Sunset Records, blending music, art, and civic engagement.
- Ongoing partnerships with organizations, such as SoundUp Club, Church Studio, Tayburn Music and others.
- Continued expansion of our local artist programming, showcasing Oklahoma and independent artists to a national audience of hotel guests.
What are you working on now/next?
We are continuing to expand our music programming calendar, deepen partnerships with Oklahoma-based artists and organizations, and explore new formats for music-centered events. This includes additional commissioned projects, artist residencies and collaborations that connect live performance with physical media and storytelling.
What is your goal/vision for the future of your company?
Our long-term vision is for Brut Hotel to serve as a permanent piece of Tulsa’s creative infrastructure—a place where music is consistently supported through space, programming and resources. We aim to be a model for how hospitality, culture and the music industry can coexist in a way that benefits artists, audiences and the broader community.

Build relationships first. Oklahoma’s music community is collaborative and values authenticity. Invest locally, stay consistent and think long-term. Businesses that succeed here are the ones that show up repeatedly and contribute in meaningful ways rather than chasing short-term visibility.
