Oklahoma Film Actor’s Studios (OFA Studios) is an actor-led acting studio and production hub based in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District. OFA Studios specializes in on-camera actor training, cinematic scene production, headshots and industry-ready reel footage—bridging the gap between actor training and real-world film set experience. Built by working actors and filmmakers, OFA Studios exists to elevate Oklahoma talent to a global professional standard while strengthening the state’s film ecosystem from the inside out.
Can you tell us how and why you started your business?
OFA Studios was founded out of necessity and gratitude. As a working actor raised in Oklahoma who later built a career in Los Angeles and on national film and television projects, I became deeply aware of how much access, preparation and opportunity shape an actor’s trajectory. When I returned home, I saw incredible talent but limited infrastructure to consistently prepare actors for professional sets, auditions and long-term careers. OFA Studios was created to close that gap. The mission was never to compete with anyone locally, but to build something that could compete globally, while remaining rooted in community. Every decision—from training style to production quality—was shaped by one question: What would I have needed when I was starting out?
What services do you provide within the film/music industry?
OFA Studios provides actor-focused services that directly support Oklahoma’s film and television industry, including:
- On-camera acting classes for adults and youth
- Cinematic scene production for acting reels (shot, edited and color-corrected in 4K)
- Professional headshots and actor branding (now through Numunuu Photography)
- Self-tape coaching and audition preparation
- Set-style training and on-camera rehearsal workflows
- Specialized intensives (Action/Stunts for Actors, Dialects, Business of Acting)
- Script-to-screen collaborations through our Writers Pipeline
These services are designed to help actors arrive on set prepared, professional and confident—benefiting casting directors, producers and productions working in Oklahoma.
How has your company grown to meet the needs of Oklahoma’s film and/or music industries over the last 3-5 years?
OFA Studios has grown intentionally alongside Oklahoma’s expanding film industry. We’ve evolved from a training-focused studio into a production-forward pipeline, offering actors not only education, but tangible career tools: headshots that meet industry standards, self-tapes that book work and cinematic footage that represents them competitively at a national level.
As a result, actors training at OFA Studios have:
- Signed with major Los Angeles agencies
- Booked roles in network television, studio features and national productions
- Used OFA-produced headshots, self-tapes and reel footage as key parts of that success
We’ve also scaled our internal systems—editors, assistants, curriculum designers and production workflows—to mirror real film sets, ensuring our training grows in step with industry expectations.
What are the benefits of basing your company’s operations in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma offers a rare combination of community, access and upward momentum.
Operating here allows OFA Studios to:
- Invest directly back into local talent and infrastructure
- Collaborate closely with writers, filmmakers and productions
- Maintain high professional standards without the financial barriers of larger markets
- Build long-term relationships rather than transactional ones
Oklahoma’s film community is deeply collaborative and that culture allows meaningful growth for both artists and the industry as a whole.
What would you consider your business’s greatest accomplishment to date?
Our greatest accomplishment is the impact—not the scale.
Between 2025 and 2026, OFA Studios has given back over $53,000 in resources to actors, including:
- 477 free professional headshots
- 150+ free acting classes
- Free cinematic footage, coaching and industry education
We are grateful that this approach, leading with generosity and quality, has resulted in sold-out classes and sustained growth. It reaffirmed our belief that investing in artists ultimately strengthens the entire ecosystem.
Are there any recent successes your company would like to highlight related to work within the Oklahoma film and music industries?
Yes, and we share these with humility and gratitude.
- Actors training at OFA have signed with major LA agents and booked network and studio projects using OFA Studios headshots, self-tapes and reel footage.
- We are proud that our studio environment directly contributed to an OFA Studios Owner Kylr Coffman booking a lead role in “New Years Rev”—the largest film to shoot in Oklahoma during the 2025–2026 cycle—through headshots and self-tapes created at the studio.
- This reinforced the studio’s core philosophy: OFA Studios is led by working professionals who understand today’s industry firsthand.
These moments belong to the entire community that makes OFA Studios possible.
What are you working on now/next?
Currently, OFA Studios is focused on refinement of the value we give. We have had some great success, but our dreams and ambitions are sky high!
We are:
- Continuing to elevate our production and ability to produce our own productions and be fully independent.
- Expanding partnerships and bringing in more industry guest
- Growing youth on-camera education
- Deepening writer-to-actor collaborations
- Strengthening partnerships with productions filming in Oklahoma
Our goal is consistency, sustainability and excellence.
What is your goal/vision for the future of your company?
Our vision is for OFA Studios to serve as a long-term pillar of Oklahoma’s film infrastructure. And become our own production company.
We aim to:
- Prepare actors who can work professionally at any level
- Support productions with reliable, prepared talent
- Create opportunities that allow artists to stay and thrive in Oklahoma
- Help position Oklahoma as a state known not just for incentives—but for people
- Tell great stories
What advice do you have for others who are considering starting a film or music business in Oklahoma?
Lead with service, not ego. Oklahoma rewards businesses that invest in people, collaborate openly and maintain high standards. Build something you’d be proud to hand to the next generation, and trust that quality and integrity will create momentum over time.
What opportunities do you believe await Oklahoma’s film/music industry in the future?
Oklahoma has an opportunity to become a talent destination, not just a filming location. With continued growth in training, education and community-based infrastructure, the state can retain artists, develop original voices and support productions with homegrown professionals ready to work at a national level.
