FILM #2 – “KICKING DOWN DOORS”
Synopsis:
A court-ordered special ops veteran enters an experimental EMDR therapy program that uses immersive virtual reconstruction to revisit traumatic memories – and must finally choose between endlessly re-living the moment that saved his life, or accepting the gift his closest friend died to give him.
Roles:
- GARRETT “SHAWMAN” SHAW – 20s–30s, Army veteran, court-ordered into therapy, resistant and guarded. In a moment, charismatic and charming and then withdrawn and cautious like a fox.
- DR. CLAIRE MERCER – Late 30s–40s, book-smart, PhD in Psychology, Trauma Therapist, no lived military experience, expert and newcomer simultaneously. Competent and prepared, she’s well put together, and her streamlined outfits reflect her personality; she’s tight, exact but caring.
- DANNY “SKI” KOWALSKI – 20s, soldier, best friend of Shaw, the heart of the unit. The man everyone loved, the one with a nickname for everyone else, the one whose laugh carried across the outpost.
Military Roles: Must be comfortable in water. Military and/or scuba experience is a bonus.
