Oklahoma Film + Music Office Celebrates 23 Years of deadCenter

The Oklahoma Film and Music Office (OF+MO), a division of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, is proud to be a returning partner of the 23rd annual deadCenter Film Festival which will host screenings, panels, networking events and more throughout various locations in downtown Oklahoma City June 8-11, 2023.

An Oscar-qualifying film festival, deadCenter is the largest event of its kind in Oklahoma, promoting, encouraging and celebrating independent films both through the organization’s annual film festival and educational outreach. This year’s film festival received over 1,900 submissions, and has confirmed 165 films with numerous standouts from local moviemakers, including the world-premiere of the Oklahoma rebate film “What Rhymes with Reason” which utilized the state’s film incentive program administered by OF+MO.

As part of its partnership with deadCenter, OF+MO will be the official host of the Oklahoma Filmmakers Lounge, a designated venue which will serve as the primary hub for media and podcast interviews as well as a meeting space and refreshment area exclusively for this year’s participating filmmakers.

“OF+MO looks forward to another year of partnership with the deadCenter Film Festival as we showcase to all of this year’s attendees the talent and work ethic of Oklahoma’s own film industry workforce who continue to elevate filmmaking among the best of the industry,” said OF+MO Director Jeanette Stanton.
