Oklahoma Film + Music Office Partners with Factory Obscura to Present Future of Sound Fest

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), a division of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, is proud to support Factory Obscura’s Future of Sound Fest on Saturday, March 23, 2-8 p.m.

Future of Sound Fest will bring a spectacle of creative collaboration for attendees to enjoy and will showcase local musicians performing original songs inspired by the company’s Mix-Tape immersive experience. This original music will also be featured on the six-song compilation cassette tape, “Mix-Tape Vol. 5,” which will debut and be available for purchase at the festival.

This compilation series, now in its fifth year, is led by Factory Obscura’s Talent Booker & Events Producer Lindsey Cox. Each year, six local artists are invited to spend time inside Factory Obscura’s immersive art space to write an original song, which are then recorded for the annually released cassette and performed live at Future of Sound Fest.

“Factory Obscura’s Future of Sound Fest is not only a celebration of the Mix-Tape Vol. 5 cassette release, but also the celebration of Oklahoma’s diverse music scene,” said Cox. “We are thrilled to have the Oklahoma Film + Music Office support us in uplifting the incredible talent we have right here in this state.”

This year’s Future of Sound Fest will feature music artists Sweetest Pot, Challo, Baileyboy, Cheyanne Marie, Moriah Bailey and Psychic Baths. This event, which is free and open to the public to attend, will also feature the Spring Artist Market with handmade goods by local vendors along with outdoor artworks and creative performances.

“OF+MO is happy to partner with Factory Obscura in presenting Future of Sound Fest, and we’re excited to see the initiative this establishment is taking to support music and art within their region,” said OF+MO Director Jeanette Stanton. “This event offers a remarkable way to celebrate both local artists and art in conjunction with Oklahoma City’s Automobile Alley, creating a special opportunity for people to come together across the district and beyond.”
