The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) will participate in two events this month that support the state’s music industry by highlighting resources and showcasing the talents of our local music professionals.
Both events are free to attend.

Wrecords Music Festival
OF+MO is proud to be a partner of the inaugural Wrecords Music Festival, a 24-hour music recording race where independent artists (18 and older) will be challenged to create an original song using a randomly assigned genre, lyric, and instrument. Taking place March 14-15 in Chickasha, Okla., the event will provide musicians with a competitive opportunity to showcase their talents while connecting with industry professionals.
The first-place winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize, a professionally produced music video by Intellego Media, automatic selection into the band lineup for USAO’s Droverstock and The Oklahoma Food Truck Championship and airplay on Mollman Media’s radio stations. Judges include Cody Hanson and Marshall Dutton (Hinder), Miche’la Creel (Saint Monroe), Dameon Aranda (Aranda), and Wyatt Clem (The Ivy).
The competition begins March 14 at 11:59 p.m., with submissions due by March 15 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on March 29 at Legends Pubhouse & Venue in Chickasha, where select artists will perform.
“We’re so excited for this new event that will help independent musicians gain exposure, win cash and access incredible opportunities,” said Wrecords Music Festival Directors.

Future of Sound Fest
Additionally, OF+MO is proud to be a sponsor of Future of Sound Fest, an annual event taking place on Saturday, March 29, at Factory Obscura in Oklahoma City. The festival highlights Oklahoma City’s flourishing music community and celebrates the release of Mix-Tape Vol. 6, a compilation album featuring original songs by festival performers, all inspired by Factory Obscura’s immersive Mix-Tape Art Experience.
This year’s event will feature live performances by Mix-Tape Vol. 6 artists including Kae, BertaB, Cowtippers, Sky Hemenway, YZMN and Mad Honey alongside a dynamic showcase of Oklahoma’s creative community.
“Factory Obscura is excited to partner with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office for this year’s Future of Sound Fest. This annual festival highlights Oklahoma City’s flourishing music community and celebrates the release of Mix-Tape Vol. 6, a compilation album featuring original songs by the festival performers, all inspired by Factory Obscura’s Mix-Tape Immersive Art Experience,” said Factory Obscura Event Producer and Talent Booker Lindsey Cox.
This event, which is free and open to the public to attend, will also feature the Spring Artist Market with handmade goods by local vendors along with outdoor artworks and creative performances.
