Above the Line is a character-driven indie drama set within Oklahoma’s filmmaking community. The story follows Roman, an ambitious filmmaker struggling to balance friendship, love, and artistic success as a film project begins to pull apart the people closest to him.
Inspired by The Social Network and BlackBerry, Above the Line combines grounded performances, sharp dialogue, and naturalistic filmmaking to explore the emotional cost of creative ambition.
The film is designed as a contained, producible narrative with a focused cast, four primary locations, and a production schedule built around collaboration and preparation. Our goal is to create a festival-ready short film that highlights Oklahoma filmmakers and tells an authentic story about the people who dedicate themselves to making movies.
